Three unrelated technologies share the name, listings are crowded with near-identical devices, and the difference between a delightful purchase and a drawer gadget usually comes down to one detail nobody mentioned.

So we picked this one small lane and stayed in it. We cover pocket thermal printers, sticker makers, instant photo printers, portable document printers, and the label machines that keep small online shops running. Every guide tries to answer the same three questions: how does this actually work, who is it really for, and what will the paper cost you long after the printer is paid for.
